Power
generation services are principally provided to mining operations,
independent power producers, commercial complexes, remote communities
and townships. Specialist expertise includes: gas and steam turbine driven
power stations; diesel and gas engine embedded generators; and renewable
energy.
Power Stations Expertise in power stations has mainly been gained through our involvement with medium sized,
~30MW, gas and steam turbine driven generators that are used to supply townships and large process plants. Significant tasks have included:
- Management of major overhauls.
- Protection and load shedding scheme development.
- Interconnection integrity and stability evaluation.
Embedded Generators Expertise in embedded generation has
mainly been gained through our involvement with small, ~2MW, grid connected generators. These generators are used for energy export sales, security of supply, peak lopping and internal base load supply. Energy sources have included: landfill gas, wind, solar, process off gas, diesel and natural gas. Significant tasks have included:
- Power flow, fault level and voltage control evaluation.
- Protection and interconnection scheme development.
- Construction and commissioning coordination.
Renewable Energy Expertise in renewable
energy has mainly been
gained through our involvement with large scale, ~100MW, wind farms that are
used to supply energy into utility electricity grids. Significant tasks on wind
farms have included:
- Feasibility study technical coordination.
- Protection and control scheme development.
- Construction and commissioning coordination.
